Bettering Yourself
One of the easier steps to make yourself more attractive is to fix the little problems you have. Things like the way you dress, (dental) hygiene, hairstyle, and any other physical changes to make yourself more appealing. Keep in mind that this is not only for the women but also for yourself. If you’re decked out with all your best clothes and shoes you’re going to feel better because of it.
I’m going to touch on a few things that I think most guys need to fix. I’d also like to rearticulate that none of these are crucial. They will not kill your chances with women, but the more of these you have under control the easier sets will open and generate attraction.
1. Overweight – If you are overweight try to get into the gym and work some off. If you don’t want to pay for a membership, do free weights at home. Just make sure you stick with what you’re doing and make it part of your schedule. Try to make working out part of an everyday activity. If you’re a Halo addict like me, do push ups or crunches between each game. They really add up.
2. Underweight – This isn’t as common, but it needs to be addressed. If you are skinny, try and get to the gym and build some muscle. Read the overweight section for ways to make working out part of your schedule. You don’t have to look like Schwarzenegger (the young version that is), but you should be able to fill out a T-shirt.
3. Clothing – Most guys are clueless when it comes to style. Try and get a fashionable girl to come with you to pick out some clothes. If you don’t have any girl friends than get a female clerk to help you pick some clothes out. And no more shopping at JC Penny. Try Hollister or Abercrombie for some of your clothes. If you want some really nice stuff you can search for some designer brands, but keep in mind they cost an ass load. EBay has a surprisingly good selection as well. Remember tight clothes (as in shirts) look good. Baggy jeans and t-shirts that are three sizes too large look like shit. For all the frugal guys out there I’m sorry, but you are going to have to spend some money. Save some up if you don’t have any.
4. Teeth – Not much to say here. If your teeth aren’t as white as you’d like them to be try Crest Whitestrips. They’re a bit expensive, but they’re nothing compared to professional whitening. Also, straight teeth are good. If you need and can afford braces, get them.
5. Acne – If you’ve got it see a dermatologist. If normal medicines aren’t working well, ask your doctor about Accutane. It is very effective, but can have side effects so it’s really a judgment call on your part.
6. Nervous Ticks – When you approach get a friend or wing to watch you for any nervous ticks/twitches you may do. Many of these we aren’t conscious of, so it is important to have someone else watch for them.
7. Looks – Keep yourself well-groomed and clean. Girls aren’t so much into what you’ve got as to how well you maintain what you’ve got. If you have facial hair, such as a beard, keep it trimmed so it doesn’t look scruffy. A tan is also very helpful, but isn’t necessary. If your old hairstyle isn’t working ask the hairstylist that cuts your hair what she thinks would look good. Pubic hair is your choice. I would recommend leaving it alone unless you’ve got an Amazon-type thing going on. If that’s the case a trim should be just fine. Body hair (back/chest) is a personal choice as well. If you feel comfortable getting your chest waxed go for it. Nair will also remove any unwanted hair. One last thing, if you have a unibrow wax/pluck that shit. Don’t worry; it’s not gay unless you start trimming up your normal eyebrows.
8. Have a Life – Don’t be boring. Get out with your friends and do exciting things. Not only is it fun to always be doing something, but you’ll always have stories to tell when meeting women. Remember, video games are not a life. They are fun and do have their place, but when I say having a life I mean going outside the house and doing something social.
