It works! Pay a lot of attention to him so that he can as comfortable as possible. Cool him down when hes hot with a damp face towel on his forehead. Warm him up with blankets and maybe a warm tea/drink. P.S. Get him some lemonade and make sure he rests, which is even better for you because you can spend time relaxing with him in bed :) Keep the good girlfriend work up!
