Why would you ask that question, it makes you look cheap that you have had many hookups. His answer means
1. do you want a nice date
2. do you want to have meaning less sex
depends how he said it.

Honestly, A statement like that sounds like it came from a guy interested in only one thing, and thats the obvious. That sort of statement is very often mistaken for a confident statement when in reality it is an arrogant statement. Truth be told arrogance is often mistaken for confidence.
As a guy, my honest opinion is that this guy that you are talking to is more or less a player, just looking for a little something something so to speak.
HE is trying to get what ever to give him. If you go on a standard date then he will conform. If you give him sex then he will do likewise. I would suggest startng with a date first.
i dont think you can ask a guy like that. you have to see how it goes. it also depends on how you handle the situation. if you sleep with him on the first date, the chances are that you are more likely to become a hookup. if you hold out until like the 4th or 5th date at least, hell know that you are looking for something more than a hookup.. if he runs away, he is looking for nothing more than a hookup. if he stays, which means that he thinks you are worth his time to wait, he might have changed his mind and decided that you are better than a hookup. i once asked the guy i am seeing like that after 2 or 3 weeks of dating, and he just said the he just likes spending time wit me. but now we are officially seeing each other exclusively. so guys dont know how they feel until they are there.
